How do I get started in Sydney?
Call 1800 121 000 or request a free callback. A Care Partner will confirm your classification, explain your budget and help you set up your plan.
What is self-managed Support at Home?
Self-management means you lead and make key decisions about your services — such as which services you use, when they happen and, in some cases, who delivers them. Sensible Care remains your registered provider, looking after compliance, invoicing and budget oversight in the background.
What is the difference between self-managed and fully-managed?
With self-managed support, you take the lead on the day-to-day arrangements with our backing. With fully-managed support, your Care Partner coordinates your services for you. Both are delivered by the same registered provider, to the same quality and safety standards, and both include a care plan and regular Care Partner contact.
How can I track my budget and spending?
Through our Online Portal, you can view your budget and expenditure online, alongside the regular budget statements from your Care Partner. Ask your Care Partner how to get access.
Can I combine both approaches?
Yes. Many participants self-manage the services they like to organise and have us manage the rest. We'll agree the arrangement with you, document it in your care plan, and review it whenever you'd like to adjust it.
Can I switch from my current provider?
Yes. There's no lock-in contract with Sensible Care, and we'll coordinate the transfer of your remaining funds and current arrangements.
I have a Home Care Package. Can I move to Sensible Care?
Yes. Transitional protections apply so that participants moving from a Home Care Package are no worse off under Support at Home. A Care Partner will walk you through what changes for your situation.
